One Young World, Ellis Campbell Foundation
One Young World, Unloc and The Ellis Campbell Foundation recognise that to incubate the next generation of young leaders and widen access to changemaking, more must be done to support young people with enormous potential but limited social capital. The legacy of the One Young World Summit in Belfast provides the perfect opportunity to address this challenge in Northern Ireland.
The funding landscape is exceptionally limited for young people who want to launch their own community project, social enterprise, charity, or business. As a result, talented young people — especially those from disadvantaged communities — struggle to kickstart their changemaker journey.
Seed2030 aims to change this.
The project brings micro-funding to young people in Northern Ireland to test or develop a campaign or project idea that advances one of the 17 UN Global Goals. Each young person receives:
A grant of up to £1,000
Mentorship
Training and leadership development
Those leading the most impactful projects will also be supported to attend the following year’s One Young World Summit — continuing the Belfast Summit’s legacy.
9 micro-grants (£1,000 each) were made available to young people across Northern Ireland to develop projects aligned with the Global Goals.
Grants were announced and launched at the One Young World Belfast Summit.
A joint panel of local stakeholders, One Young World, Unloc, and young people selected the final cohort.
The cohort gathered for an immersive Leadership Development Bootcamp at The Clayton Hotel, Belfast (April 2025).
2 days, 1 night
Guest speakers included Dave Linton (Madlug) and Faith Drummond & Liam Harte (Seed2030 Year 1 recipients)
Sessions focused on leadership skills, project development, and impact growth
Each recipient is matched with a mentor from the One Young World Ambassador Community.
Participants can apply to attend One Young World Munich 2025, with the two most impactful project leads fully supported to attend.
